In order to develop an existing installation, a customer ordered from us 7 vertical tanks (2 x 40 m³, 1 x 60 m³, 3 x 100 m³ and 1 x 200 m³). All of them have been adapted for the heating system with pillow plates and clamp on jackets. This type of solution has not been used in our company yet, so it turned out to be an interesting challenge for technical and production departments. Fortunately, we were able to cope with the task and all processes went smoothly.
The smaller tanks were made entirely of stainless steel, with pillow plates as integral part. Large tanks were designed and made of car-bon steel, with the heating panels fastened to the outer surface (clamp on jackets). In addition, dished ends with welded half-pipes were used, thus allowing to heat bottoms of the tanks. The tanks themselves were insulated with mineral wool and covered with Aluz-inc sheets.
The project was implemented – in close cooperation with the heating elements supplier and with the customer – according to the agreed schedule.
Delivery and assembly of the largest tank were quite demanding. During the attempt to enter the construction site with our 200 m³ tank, it was necessary to disassemble signs, to remove a fence and eventually even to cut a tree. Furthermore the legs of this huge tank had to be installed by qualified employees of CGH Polska on site.
It’s worth emphasizing that the entire transport assembly was over 50 meters long and, despite all theoretical calculations and earlier preparations, it took a flexible approach and an open mind during unloading. But the final result was stunning.
